Barbara Donnelly School of Dance, Greystones T.C.R.A.D.R.T.S

The Barbara Donnelly School of Dance Greystones is a professionally run dance school for students ranging from tiny-tots to adults, holding classes in Classical Ballet and Jazz for all ages, where each student is taught personally by Barbara Donnelly TCRAD RTS. Small classes are guaranteed to ensure a hands on tuition.

 

Barbara is a Registered Teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance, having trained extensively in both London and Ireland. Barbara has produced many concerts and shows, - with the aim of passing on the joy of dance to all her students. Barbara achieves this through her interaction with students, as she personally teaches every single pupil attending her school.

 

Every second year Barbara produces a show which is held in the Mermaid Arts Theatre in Bray to give her students the opportunity to take to the stage and demonstrate their skills.

 

Barbara has performed in many shows, starting at the age of 12 in the Gaiety Theatre with the Rathgar and Rathmines Musical Society, and has been performing ever since. Barbara has also choreographed many musicals over the years, both for local Secondary Schools as well as for local Amateur Dramatic Groups. These shows include: Gilbert & Sullivan, The Boyfriend, Calamity Jane, Sound of Music, Grease, South Pacific, The Kind & I, Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat and Company to name but a few.

 

Through dance, the students learn sense of concentration, co-ordination, discipline and fitness, though most of all, the sheer joy of dance itself.  The students work towards Royal Academy of Dance Exams.  In the past years the success rate has been 100% pass distinction.

 

In recent years, a new adult class was introduced "Ballet for Beginners". Whether you have done Ballet as a child or not, but dream to Ballet Dance all whilst de-stressing, losing weight, toning up and most importantly meeting new people and having fun.
